Privacy Policy

Type Ten LLC ("Type Ten", "we") is a game studio based in California, United States. This policy covers this website, typeten.io, and our games. We collect as little as we can, never sell personal information, and never share it for advertising.
This website
typeten.io sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Nothing loads from a third party until you ask it to.
- Your browser's storage. The idle game on the home page keeps its progress in your browser's local storage, on your device only. Clearing your site data resets it.
- Videos. Trailers load from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (
youtube-nocookie.com) only after you press play. From then on, Google's privacy policy applies to that video. - Hosting. The site is served by Amazon Web Services, which processes standard request information, such as your IP address and browser, to deliver pages and protect the site. We don't keep access logs.
- Links. Links to Steam, itch.io, Discord, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram take you to services with their own privacy policies. Links to our Steam store pages carry tags naming the page of this site they're on, so Steam can tell us how many visits and wishlists came from each page. Steam's report shows only totals, not who you are.
When you contact us or sign up
- Contact form and email. Your name, email address and message are emailed to us so we can reply, and kept on our servers for a year, then deleted.
- Newsletter. We keep your email address and which updates you asked for. We only email you after you confirm; unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after a week. Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe, which deletes your address from the list.
- Key requests. Your name, email address and outlet are emailed to us to review your request, and kept for a year, then deleted.
- Spam protection. Each form counts how often it's used from your internet address, so it can't be flooded. The count is kept as a one-way hash, never the address itself, and deleted after a day.
Our games
Our games are sold and distributed through Steam, with free demos on Steam and itch.io. Purchases, accounts, achievements and cloud saves are handled by those stores under their own privacy policies, and we never receive your payment details.
Our games collect gameplay analytics, such as progress and how features are used, to help us balance and improve them. The analytics are built in house and sent only to us: no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services are involved. Each game lets you opt out of analytics at any time.
Type Ten Puzzles
The daily puzzles at puzzles.typeten.io have their own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@typeten.io. We'll answer within 30 days. If you live in California, these are among your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act; we don't sell or share personal information as that law defines it.
Children
Our website and games are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email support@typeten.io and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
